Review and reconsideration of a prosecution decision
Information about review routes for eligible prosecution decisions.
A prosecution decision can be reviewed only where current law, prosecution procedure or an authorised CPS review scheme provides a route. The CPS will not present an informal complaint as a legal appeal.
If a review route applies, the published decision notice or case communication should explain who may request review, the time limit, the information required and who will decide the review. If no review route applies, the ordinary feedback and complaints process remains available for service concerns.
