Prosecutors should communicate clearly about decisions and proceedings where information can lawfully be disclosed. Victims and witnesses should not be promised an outcome.

Safeguarding and accessibility needs should be identified early and referred to the competent support, police or court route. Prosecutors remain responsible for prosecution decisions and case presentation, not for taking over safeguarding casework.
