How prosecutors consider the public interest independently of political or operational pressure.

The public interest is considered alongside the evidential basis required by the applicable prosecution framework. Relevant factors must be recorded and applied consistently.

Neither a minister, police officer, public body nor platform administrator may direct a prosecutor to reach a particular outcome in an individual case. Superintendence and accountability do not remove prosecution independence.
